Retina Specialists Will Come Up With Best Solutions To Work With

Retina specialists are medical doctors, specialized in ophthalmology who diagnose various retinal diseases. They examine both of your eyes with deepest attention using different advanced technologies, equipment as well as methods.

Retinal detachment surgery is for placing a retina back in its original position and preserving your vision. Retina stays in the back of our eyes and is very sensitive to light, if somehow it moves away then blurry vision or other complications with vision may occur.

The common reasons behind retinal detachment are
  • Old age
  • Some serious eye injury causing retinal tear or break

The three types of retinal detachments are
  • Rhegmatogenous
  • Tractional
  • Exudative

Some common symptoms of retinal detachment are
  • Objects floating across the eye
  • Grey covering moving across the ground of vision
  • Flashing lights

Knowing the retina in brief

The retina is a thin portion or tissue which is sensitive to light and found in the back of our eyes. When we look at any object around us, light from that object enters to our eye and strikes the retina, stimulating electrical response within the various layers of the retina. Optic Nerves then transmit these signals to the brain and some part of the brain process the energy, so we can see as well as understand the object properly.

Retinal detachment

This problem occurs when the retina moves from its original position, losing all the attachments. Detachments are often caused by the retinal tear or break, called as rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, not necessarily a result of eye injury.

When the vitreous gel pulls is instable, it causes the separation of retina from its normal attachments. Sometimes, retinal breaks are associated with bleeding, caused by the tear of retinal blood vessels. The vitreous shrinks as we grow older, developing separation of our vitreous from our retina.

Vitreous gel can easily pass if the retina is torn and can cause the accumulation of fluid behind our retina that will gradually separate the retina from its layers. Usually, retinal detachments damages one eye simultaneously but the other eye should be checked properly as well in order to be sure whether it also has some complications and need treatment or not.

Note:

Our eyes are the window to see, enjoy and appreciate the beauties of this world and we must be careful about preserving our vision. If any complication occurs, do not think twice to consult with your doctor and get the necessary treatment.
